Outreach

As Christians, we strive to live out our Baptismal covenant promise “to seek and serve Christ in all persons” in many ways. Here are some of the ways that the All Saints’ community works to share God’s love with our neighbors.

Children's Ministries

"Train up a child in the way he should go [teaching him to seek God’s wisdom and will for his abilities and talents], Even when he is old he will not depart from it." ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭22‬:‭6‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Sunday school is a great way for children to learn about their faith and to connect with other children in their community. Our Sunday school classes offer children a chance to learn about the Bible and its teachings in a fun and engaging way; helping them to develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for their faith. Sunday school meets each Sunday from 12:30 to 1:30 pm.

Vacation Bible School (VBS) is a summer program for children to learn about the Bible and to have fun with their peers. It’s a great way for kids to deepen their faith, connect with other members of their church community, and have a fun and meaningful experience. During VBS, children typically participate in a variety of activities such as singing, playing games, making crafts, and learning stories from the Bible. VBS is a great opportunity for children to make new friends and build a sense of community within their church.

The Angel Tree is a charitable program that aims to provide holiday gifts for children in need. The Angel Tree program is a wonderful way to spread holiday cheer and make a difference in the lives of those who are struggling during the holiday season.

Various seasonal events/parties are held for the children of the church.

Thrift Shop

Our Thrift Shop is located in the Montgomery House and is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 10:00am to 1:00pm

The All Saints’ Thrift Shop is a second-hand store that sells donated items such as clothing, shoes, toys, household goods, books, and small appliances. Though our space is small, our offerings are big! The Thrift Shop is staffed by dedicated and loving volunteers who are always friendly and helpful. They’re happy to assist you in your search for the perfect item.

One of the best things about shopping at the church thrift store is that all proceeds go towards supporting the church’s charitable activities and other community programs.

Samaritan House

Samaritan House Lakewood, situated on the grounds of All Saints Episcopal Church in central Lakewood, is a program offering comprehensive guidance and support to help men escape homelessness. It offers transitional housing for 8 homeless men. HOUSE the homeless; not a shelter for someone to crash for the night, but short-term transitional housing – a sober-living environment. This program aims to empower the homeless by counseling, access to resources, referrals, advocacy, and meals to those actively working to overcome life crises. Our success rate of nearly 73% significantly exceeds the state average of 35% for similar facilities, showcasing the effectiveness of our approach in supporting individuals on their journey out of homelessness.

In addition to these images, the National Episcopal Church, on July 28, 2016, recognized our efforts with this write-up. Episcopal Church.org or PDF of the article.

Samaritan House Lakewood, a subsidiary of All Saints Community Center, is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit. Thank you very much.

Samaritan House creates a safe and sober environment that emphasizes responsibility and accountability for homeless men referred by veterans’ services or social services, individuals at risk of homelessness post-jail or psychiatric treatment, and those who have completed drug or alcohol addiction programs. Its operations rely on donations from generous supporters to deliver a comprehensive and empowering recovery experience. Each contribution plays a crucial role in paving the way for long-term sobriety, stability, and positive transformations in the lives of the men as they navigate their recovery journey.

“The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”
